Believing that students’ involvement in the Rotary International concept of “service above self” while pursuing their education may lead to both community benefit and future potential membership in Rotary International and a local Rotary club, the Aiken Rotary Club has been instrumental in the formation of student clubs at both high school and college levels in Aiken.
Rotaract: College Students & Community Service
The Aiken Rotary Club also assisted in the creation of the Rotoract club for college-age students at the University of South Carolina Aiken (USCA). Also committed to the tenets of Rotary, the USCA Rotoract club began with ten charter members in 2014 now enters its fourth school year. Among other projects, USCA Rotaract members have joined with the Aiken Rotary Club’s Rotary Readers in supporting the literacy growth of students at East Aiken Elementary School for the Arts.
